Emad Al-Turk has been named MSWTC Advisory Board President for 2004-2006 and Chairman of the International Business Development Committee. Mr. Al-Turk is a charter member of the Mississippi World Trade Center and has actively participated in its many events, conferences and seminars since the organization's inception.
Al-Turk holds a B.S. and M.S. in civil engineering from the University of Mississippi and Mississippi State University, respectively, and an M.B.A. from Millsaps College. Formerly, he was chief operating officer of Waggoner Engineering, Inc., a leading engineering firm in the southern region of the United States, for almost fifteen years and was responsible for the day-to-day operation of the firm. Mr. Al-Turk was also involved in planning, design, construction, administration, and overall project management and funding for well over $100 million in construction projects. Currently, he is an independent businessman in the Jackson, Mississippi area and serves as Board Chairman for the forthcoming traveling tourism exhibition entitled "The Legacy of Timbuktu: Wonders of the Written Word."
