CEO Jim Finley holds Exporter of the Year Plaque

The goal of Craft-Co Enterprises Inc. is to exceed its customers' expectations. The Small Business Administration of Mississippi recently named Craft-Co the Exporter of the Year for 2003. Obviously, Craft-Co is exceeding more than just customers' expectations.

Conventional wisdom says that companies can't compete with the low cost of labor in countries like Mexico. Craft-Co proves that not only can Mississippi companies compete but they can also thrive in an export economy.

Currently, Craft-Co ships Brushes, Switches, and Wiring Assemblies to over a hundred locations. These locations include the United States, Canada, Australia, Mexico, Brazil, Japan, Spain and England. Craft-Co is also a Tier One supplier to GM, Ford, DaimlerChrysler, Jaguar and Saab. They have proven to be competitive and many other Tier One plants depend on the products produced in Morton.

Craft-Co's President Jim Finley is proud of the success of the company. With 50% of Craft-Co's business from export, Finley fights for export rights for Mississippi and works to lower export restrictions.

ISO 14001 Preparation

Craft-Co maintains the highest standards in manufacturing and the automotive industry. Craft-Co presently is an ISO 9001 supplier and is in process of obtaining the rigorous ISO 14001:1996 environmental standard. To secure its future Craft-Co is also preparing to receive the TS 16949:2002 standard by 2005. This will ensure that in every way Craft-Co's commitment to excellence places them among the top suppliers in the automotive industry.

The future of Craft-Co's employees and the community is important to Jim Finley. Since 1995, Craft-Co has partnered with East Central Community College's Workforce Development Center. This partnership has provided all levels of education, from English as a second language and GED's to courses for college credit. Craft-Co also sponsors an awards day for the children of employees who are graduating or who make the honor roll.
