On May 19th, the MSWTC held its spring quarterly luncheon themed "Building Transport & Trade" at the Marriott Hotel in downtown Jackson. The featured speaker was Gil Carmichael, Senior Chairman of the Intermodal Transportation Institute's Board of Directors at the University of Denver and President of Missouth Properties, LP in Meridian. Mr. Carmichael, a fellow Mississippian, has also served as the Federal Railroad Administrator under President Bush, on the National Transportation Policy Study Commission under President Ford and on the National Highway Safety Advancement Commission under President Nixon.
